We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our busy and growing Finance Team.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Management Accountant, as Assistant Accountant you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Firm’s finance function, assisting in the production of management financial reports across the Group as well as taking ownership of the Firm’s Accounts Payable function.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fluid, fast-paced environment with a positive attitude towards contributing to the finance function and to the Firm as a whole. A strong candidate will show a high level of curiosity, be confident enough to challenge the status quo, have a flexible mindset and work well within a collaborative team environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage the purchase order process and ensure the timely processing of supplier invoicing and payments (all within Tipalti)
  • Manage employee expense claims
  • Point of contact for the team for accounts payable queries – internal and external
  • Reconcile 3rd party credit card balances and pre-paid cards
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and supporting calculations
  • Assist with bank reconciliation processes
  • Provide analysis of bank charges and produce bank interest schedules
  • Ensure the Fixed Asset Schedule is maintained/is kept up to date
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly commission analysis
  • Assist with month-end close procedures
  • Ensure accurate financial ledgers and journal posting procedures are followed accurately
  • Assist the team with the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls where appropriate
  • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, provide necessary documentation and respond to audit queries
  • Assist with populating data for regulatory submissions
  • Ahhoc projects as and when requested by Senior Management

Qualification & Experience

  • Studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent
  • A good understanding of accounts payable procedures
  • Experience of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and data skills
  • Strong communicator
