Accounts Assistant will be responsible for assisting in providing Accounting Services to support the Accounts Function in the timely delivery and integrity of the assigned income statements, balance sheet accounts, and year-end Audit.

Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Collate information and complete reconciliations on commissions, including ensuring a match to bank statements.
  • Process invoices.
  • Manage the general accounts email account.
  • Analyse expenses and calculate VAT breakdowns for GCEN.
  • Download credit card statements and provide commentary and summary.
  • Download currency card statements and provide commentary and summary.
  • Download Monthly bank statements and complete the bank reconciliations. 
  • Support audit preparation and complete tasks as required.
  • Prepare VAT return for review.
  • Assist in the completion of the year-end reports.
  • Support in the implementation of the new accounts package.
  • Support audit preparation and complete tasks as required.
  • Escalate Accounts concerns to the HOF promptly.
  • Respond to ad hoc query reviews in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete other duties relevant to the role as requested.

Qualification & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 + year’s proven experience in an Accounts role is essential, either for a financial services company or retail bank preferred.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills, strong numeracy and excel skills, alongside advanced problem-solving. 
  • Be able to build trusting and collaborative relationships across the Business; Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; Have meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrate strong IT skills, including Internet and email, computers, word processing, and spreadsheets; Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good presentation and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrate strong time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
