Job Purpose

Reporting to the Finance Director, as Finance Manager you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Firm’s finance function through the management of a small number of accountants whilst also working collaboratively with the Finance Director and CFO. The role requires the production of concise, well-presented financial reports across the Group to all levels of stakeholder (up to Board level). The Finance Manager needs to pro-actively contribute to improving controls, assisting in the implementation of new systems and ensuring that robust processes are in place.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fluid, fast-paced environment with a positive attitude towards making meaningful change to the Finance function and to the Firm. A strong candidate will show a high level of curiosity, be confident enough to challenge the status quo, have a flexible mindset and work well within a collaborative team environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Contribute to transformation and financial system projects (with a focus on providing the Group with more robust reporting)
  • Supervise the day-to-day accounting function
  • Co-ordinate the production of Group entity accounting and internal reporting
  • Responsibility for the production of the monthly entity and Group management accounts, including consolidation and the management of month-end close procedures
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate (and timely) information flows
  • Ensure accurate financial ledgers and clean Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Manage a team to prepare and deliver concise and accurate financial reports to Senior Management and relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and progression of team members
  • Oversee the accounts payable function
  • Collaborate closely with international accountants handling reporting for Group entities
  • Submit quarterly VAT returns and contribute to tax strategy discussions
  • Coordinate the preparation of audit schedules, provide necessary documentation and responses to audit queries
  • Coordinate the population of data for regulatory submissions
  • Ah hoc projects as and when requested by Senior Management
  • Qualification & Experience
  • Basic knowledge of domestic and international payments guidelines, scheme rules and regulatory framework, working knowledge of AML procedures, and understanding of reconciliation processes and statement reporting
  • 2+ yrs proven experience in a Payments or Back Office role for a financial services business, payment business or retail bank preferred
  • Proficiency in written and spoken of English and Cantonese, Mandarin is a plus

Qualifications & Experience

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Experience of managing individuals within a finance function
  • Experience of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and data skills
  • Strong communicator
  • Financial services experience beneficial
  • Multi-currency experience beneficial
