As part of our 20 Years celebration, we’re sitting down with some of our employees who have been with the business for years – hearing a little bit more about their experience with the company.

This week we sat down with Emma Bullock, our current Client Relationship Manager. Emma was working for an interiors company in Portugal when she jumped at the chance to join our Portugal office in 2013.


What was it about GC Partners that attracted you to the business?

I was initially introduced to GC Partners in 2007 while working as an estate agent in Portugal. I was immediately struck by their exceptional customer service, and I became confident in recommending them to my clients. When an opportunity arose to join their expanding team, I eagerly accepted, and I’ve been with them for the past 10 years. Their commitment to delivering excellent service and building strong client relationships continues to inspire me every day.

What have you learned throughout your time at GC Partners?

People have very short memories so make sure every experience is a good one. It’s crucial to strive for excellence in every interaction and ensure that every experience is a positive one. This is something we prioritize at GC Partners, and it’s reflected in the consistently positive feedback we receive from our clients.

How has GC Partners supported you throughout your career? 

GC Partners has been incredibly supportive of my career aspirations, and I’m grateful for the opportunities they’ve provided me over the years. When I made the decision to move back to the UK in 2019, I was initially worried that I might have to leave GC Partners behind. However, I approached the leadership team with my concerns, and they went above and beyond to create a role that would allow me to continue working for the company while living in the UK.

We worked together over several months to identify a suitable position that would benefit both the company and me personally, and I was thrilled with the outcome. This experience demonstrated to me that GC Partners truly values its employees and is committed to supporting their growth and development.

What has kept you at GC Partners all this time?

One of the main reasons I’ve stayed is because the job has evolved in a way that has kept me engaged and challenged. GC Partners has given me the chance to learn new skills and develop my expertise, which I can then share with new members of the team. This has allowed me to continually grow and develop in my role, which is something that I find incredibly rewarding. Additionally, I work with an amazing group of people who share my passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Working from home full-time at GC Partners has been great. The company provides flexibility to ensure a good work/life balance, which is important to me. The technology and resources provided by the company have made the transition to remote work smooth and seamless. GC Partners has a great culture of trust and accountability, which allows me to work independently while still feeling connected to my team.

Is there one memory that stands out since you started at GC Partners? If so, what is it?

One memory that stands out since I started at GC Partners is when a real estate agent, who was initially reluctant to recommend any third-party service providers to his clients, eventually recommended us after we had built a great relationship over time. It was a satisfying experience to earn his trust and see him recommend us to his clients. Six years later, he now has his own real estate business and continues to recommend us, which is a testament to the strong relationship we built.

One other memory that really stands out is when the whole GC Partners team had a blast racing tuk-tuks through the streets of Bangkok. It was a great opportunity for everyone to bond and have a good time. It’s one of those moments that still brings a smile to my face when I think back on it.

What do you think has contributed to GC Partners’ success in celebrating its 20th year of service?

Our success can be attributed to our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional customer service. While many businesses are turning to automation, we believe that our personal touch is what sets us apart. We are always available to our clients, ready to answer their questions and offer real-time support without the use of annoying chatbots or automated phone systems.

Our clients often feel overwhelmed, so we take the time to put them at ease and guide them through the process at their own pace. By prioritizing our clients’ needs and concerns, we have built strong and long-lasting relationships that have contributed to our continued success. Ultimately, it’s our dedication to putting our clients at the heart of our service that has helped us thrive for the past two decades.
